Jose Luis Gabriel Palacios Kaim. He was born on February 27, 1946 in Mexico City, where he currently resides.

 

He has a degree in Philosophy and Sociology at the Universidad Iberoamericana, institution where he has taught several courses, as well as at the Universidad Anáhuac, the Claustro de Sor Juana, La Esmeralda, the Casa Refugio Citlaltépetl, the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro, the Universidad Veracruzana, the Soumaya Museum and ITAM.

 

Complementary studies in the UNAM in the National School of Architecture. Courses in master’s and PhD in sociology, art history and literature, UNAM. Master's degree in sociology at the University of Pennsylvania, USA. Courses in painting techniques and materials at La Esmeralda (Luis Nishizahwa), drawing course UAM (José Luis Cuevas), seminar on Culture and Modernity at The Cambridge University, England; courses about art and mythology CNA (Hervé Piere Lambert), Art and sacred space (Sanjoy Mazumdar), UNAM, courses on baroque art and neoclassicism (Heinrich Pfeiffer), Sumaya Museum.

  

His most representative sculptural work is in El Colegio de México, Mexico City, Casa de Francia, Mexico City, and in the Museum of Sculptures in Jalapa, Veracruz.

 

He has published the book of poems "Autorretrato de espaldas" (1998), Catálogo de esculturas (1998), "Eurydice" (1998), "Zoe", sculpture in silver

(2009), "Ich Bin Volker" (2010), "General León 51" (2013) the latter with the support of FONCA, “Las gallinas no tienen remedio” and “Caminar”, both of Impronta Casa Editora.

 

He also has several artist books: "Introducción a la metafísica", 5 signed and numbered copies. "El baño", 5 signed and numbered copies. "China, 1,350,000,000". "Live Jazz", 12 signed and numbered copies. And "HIPNOS", 3 signed and numbered copies.

 

He has exhibited his sculptural and plastic work in Mexico, the United States, France, Belgium, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macao.
